By Train
AMTRAK® (800-872-7245) runs routes from New York City to Montreal with daily stops in Fort Edward, about 20 minutes from the Lake George Area. Car rentals, taxi and Greater Glens Falls Transit System shuttles are available from the station. To schedule a pickup on the GGFT shuttles, please call 518-792-1085, 48 hours prior to arrival.
Additionally, seasonal summer service is available aboard the Saratoga and North Creek Railway (877-726-7245) with multiple connections in the Lake George Area from Saratoga Springs to North Creek. Schedules & ticket information are available online at sncrr.com.
By Car
CAPITALAND TAXI: (518-456-8294) Capitaland Taxi is the contact cab company serving Albany International Airport. Capitaland offers late-model, smoke-free, clean vans with uniformed drivers. All Capitaland Taxis are equipped with meters to provide travelers with a fair and accurate account of their ride.
Airport Capitaland cabs are also equipped with credit card readers.
RIDE-SHARING: Lyft service is available at Albany International Airport. Lyft service is accessed by using the Lyft App on cell phones. Lyft drivers are stationed near the terminal.
UBER: Uber is not permitted to serve the Albany International Airport. The Albany County Airport Authority requires its tenants and vendors to provide third-party verification of their activity at the Airport. As of September, 2017, Uber has not agreed to terms of the Albany County Airport Authority Ride Sharing Permit. Therefore, Uber drivers are not permitted to pick up or drop off passengers at the Airport.
Getting Around the Lake George Area

Hitchhiking is dangerous and not recommended. You should not accept rides from someone you do not know unless they are a licensed transportation provider (such as a taxi driver). Most J1 students walk, share taxis, share rides with co-workers, or use bikes to get around town.
Lake George Trolley Information & Schedules
Ride the Lake George trolley provided by Greater Glens Falls Transit (GGFT).
The trolley operates every day during the summer. Be sure to check the official schedules for the South and North routes for specific times.
